Regional Anaesthesia UK (RA-UK)
Impact Statement
Dr Rachel Kearns, RA-UK Board
RA-UK's mission is to drive excellence, elevate standards, and enhance education in regional anaesthesia to ensure patients receive optimal care. As our membership expands, so does our impact. Through the establishment of the RA-UK research network, we are building a community dedicated to regional anaesthesia research in alignment with the objectives of the NIAA.
Our research network has led priority-setting initiatives in regional anaesthesia research both nationally and internationally, whilst also providing vital insights into the landscape of regional anaesthesia training in the UK. These endeavours will guide policy formulation and steer the course for future research in regional anaesthesia. RA-UK is dedicated to supporting local principal investigators, facilitating their involvement in multi-centre studies and expediting their completion.
Since 2011, RA-UK has stood as a funding partner alongside the NIAA, amplifying its financial commitment from £5,000 to £20,000 annually to encourage high quality applications. We take pride in offering applicants access to robust peer review and welcome the opportunity for collaborative research through co-funding initiatives with other specialty partners.
RA-UK is fully committed to its partnership with the NIAA, and in supporting its members to achieve impactful research in regional anaesthesia.
