Chair of the National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia (NIAA) Board

We are currently inviting applications for the role of Chair of the National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia (NIAA) Board.

The NIAA is a partnership body, made up of four founding partners, the Association of Anaesthetists, the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA), the British Journal of Anaesthesia (BJA) and the journal Anaesthesia and funding partner organisations (specialist societies).

The successful candidate will oversee the strategic direction of the NIAA and will work closely with other senior members of the partnership organisations as well as Chair of the NIAA Research Council, NIAA Grants Officer, NIAA Academic Training Coordinator, Director of the Centre for Research & improvement (CR&I).

The Chair will also be expected to maintain regular contact with the NIAA administrative team based at the Royal College of Anaesthetists.

They will also lead on maintaining positive relationships between the NIAA and key stakeholders for example the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).  

The position is a fixed-term post of three years, renewable for a further 3 year period on agreement of the NIAA Board. There is no remuneration for the role however reasonable expenses will be covered.
